The Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board announces the 5th edition of the Costa Brava Inclusive Film Award. This is an award that aims to recognize the best micro stories in video format about inclusive holidays in the Costa Brava or in the Girona Pyrenees.

The competition has two main objectives. On the one hand, to collect quality audiovisual material on inclusive or senior tourism in the Girona region and, on the other hand, to give visibility to private and public initiatives working on inclusion. The quality of the works presented in the last editions has shown that the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees are two ideal destinations for enjoying an inclusive tourism experience. An example of this is Acosta’t, the winning video of the first edition of the award. Other examples can be watched by accessing this link.

Changes of the present edition

If until now videos had to be recorded with a mobile phone, in this fifth edition they can be recorded with any device, either a mobile phone or a camera. In addition, this 2020 the prize is increased: 1,000 euros for each of the two categories: best micro story about an inclusive experience in the Costa Brava and best micro story about an inclusive experience in the Girona Pyrenees.

How to participate

Everyone can sign up, but it is necessary that a person with a disability or a senior person is actively involved in the film, either as a protagonist or as a member of the production team. The works must be unpublished, they have to have been made during the 2019-2020 period and they have to have a maximum duration of 3 minutes. The genre is open: it can be fiction, documentary, reportage…, but the common thread must convey the following idea: “Don’t stay at home! Be a protagonist in the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees”.

A registration form must be filled in before 10 September in order to submit proposals. Below, you will find the complete rules of participation.

The jury will evaluate the creativity, innovation and tourist contribution of the videos, as well as the capacity of impact, communication and attraction of the spectator. The winners of the Costa Brava Inclusive Film will be announced on 3 October at the closing ceremony of the Girona Film Festival, in the section Sustainability and Handicapped.
