Summer is here. Have you already thought about your holidays? In the Costa Brava and in the Girona Pyrenees there are inclusive proposals for all the tastes, needs and abilities. And if you combine them with a little creativity, you can take part in the Costa Brava Inclusive Films Award.

The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board is organising the seventh edition of this award, which rewards the best micro-stories in video format on inclusive holidays in the Costa Brava or in the Girona Pyrenees. The competition has two objectives. Firstly, to compile quality audiovisual material on inclusive and senior tourism in the counties of Girona and to promote the region’s inclusive tourism offer. Secondly, to draw attention to the private and public initiatives working towards inclusion.

Characteristics of the materials

The award is open to everyone, but it is essential that the film actively involves a person with a disability or a senior (over 55 years old), either as the main character or as a member of the production team.

The works must be unpublished, have a maximum length of 3 minutes and must have been produced during 2021-2022. The common thread of the story must be: “Don’t stay at home! Be a protagonist in the Costa Brava and in the Girona Pyrenees.” The genre of the proposals is open (fiction, documentary, report…) and they can be presented in two categories: best micro-story about an inclusive experience in the Costa Brava and best micro-story about an inclusive experience in the Girona Pyrenees. Each category will be awarded €1000.

The jury, made up of experts in accessibility, inclusive tourism and audiovisual products, will assess the creativity and innovation of the videos, as well as their capacity for impact and communication. The verdict of the Costa Brava Inclusive Films will be announced in October at the Murmuracions conference on inclusive and senior tourism, organised by the Castell Platja d’Aro Town Council.
