November is the month of cultural experiences in the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees. It is the month of Som Cultura. The 7th edition of the festival offers genuine proposals from organisations and companies associated with the Culture and Identity marketing club of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board. On this occasion, companies that form part of the Board’s Enogastronomy, Nature and Active Tourism and Health and Wellness marketing clubs have also joined the event, in an attempt to highlight the cross-cutting nature of culture.
Innovative cultural proposals
Museums, town councils, tourist offices and companies from the Girona cultural sector work together to promote these activities. Some forty proposals allow visitors to rediscover the cultural, heritage and artistic offerings of the counties of Girona. Twenty of these activities are accessible.
The programme of Som Cultura is configured through four thematic blocks: spaces that are treasures, cultural tastings, a whole world of museums and dramatized visits.

The aim of the festival is to stimulate the interest and cultural consumption of both local inhabitants and visitors. It also aims to showcase new products through new languages, as well as to surprise with new cultural proposals.
Culture for everyone
Many of the proposals included in this year’s Som Cultura are accessible to people with reduced mobility. This is the case of the visit to the modernist cemetery of Lloret de Mar, a tour through the funerary iconography by the art specialist Marina Garcia Carbonell. The painter Modest Cuixart invites everyone to paint a work of art as a family in his studio in Palafrugell. Other accessible family activities include shadow theatre at the Ripoll Ethnographic Museum and a gastronomic experience at the Ullastret archaeological site.

There are also accessible activities for people with hearing or visual impairment. This is the case of a dramatized visit to the Canonica in Vilabertran, a cottage cheese workshop in Can Pastoret, in Molló, or a stonemason’s workshop in Corçà. You can consult all the activities in the website of Som Cultura.
This November, enjoy culture, enjoy Som Cultura.
